William Claude "Bill" Robertson, Jr., 90, of Morrisville, Missouri., passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019, at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri.

Bill was born November 1, 1928, in Graydon Springs, Missouri, to Claude and Mamie Coats Robertson. Bill grew up running up and down the Coats branch and Graydon Springs Hills and playing on the St. Louis San Francisco (Frisco) rail line. He was introduced to work at an early age. He had worked and owned cattle from the age of 13 to 89. Farming was more to Bill than work. He took great pride in his cows and considered them to be his babies. Every Holstein and Angus was given a name.

Bill had other passions as well. He loved to garden just to watch things grow. Much of what he grew was for others. Bill also used his green thumb to grow flowers, which he was an expert at arranging. Both his work and his love of nature kept him outdoors, which is were he preferred to be.

In what little spare time he enjoyed, Bill became a self-taught mechanic and carpenter. He was gifted in both skill sets and could make nearly anything from nothing. He was a builder of dollhouses and a barn for his Grandson. He greatly enjoyed when mushroom season came around searching long and hard for the perfect morrels. He also searched for the cheapest bananas he could buy, as this was a great contest between he and his daughters.

Bill was an extreme shopper, but it was unlikely that he would be found shopping in a store. He found great pleasure in searching for discarded treasuers at swap meets, flea markets, auctions and yard sales. If not shopping, inventing, or working in his shop, Bill could be found enjoying a nice buffet line or indulging in chocolate. He loved the chocolate fountains at Hemingway's and Golden Corral and any and all pizza buffets.

Bill loved his work, he enjoyed nature's gifts, and above all, he loved his family and neighbors dearly.

He will be sorely missed, but the lessons he taught will continue on with his memory.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mamie Robertson. He is also
preceded in death by his sisters; Marian Barile and husband Joseph, Marilea Burt and husband Vaughn and Betty Lawmaster and husband Felix. Childhood friends: Charles Davis Johnson and Bill Stewart.
