Dorothy (Dot) Faye Moore, 81, was born Dec. 25, 1921, to Arthur and Mae (Slagle) Masten. She passed away Sept. 11, 2006, at 11:28 p.m. at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City. On April 16, 1942, she was united in marriage to Charley D. Moore and to this union eight children were born. Dorothy was a homemaker and farmer all her life. She also was correspondent to the St. Clair County Courier and Appleton City Journal, writing "County Line News" for several years.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley; sons Edsol, Ricky and Randy; one daughter, Kimberly; one great-grandson, Timothy; her parents; several brothers; and one sister.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Patricia and Dick Devlin of Idaho, Beverley and Jim Carter of Jasper, Cynthia Vest of Kansas City, Kevin and Michelle Moore of Montrose; daughters-in-law, Barbara Moore of Harrisonville, and Nancy Moore of Roscoe; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and a multitude of relatives and friends. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, Osceola. Rev. Larry Wheeler officiated. Casketbearers were Keith Fitzgerald, Michael Czarnecki, Patrick Czarnecki, Scott Moore, Jay Moore and Varlerie Carlisle. Honorary casketbearers were: David Moore, Marc Vest, Greg Devlin, Casandra Tarbell, Christina Roberts, Mickaela Moore, Amanda Moore, Roberta Martin, Deanna Tarver and Melissa Dixson. Interment was in Teays Chapel Cemetery.
