Gene Crow Dies At 56


POINT PLEASANT - Gene E. Crow, 56, of 1707 Jefferson Blvd., co-owner of the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, died at 11 p.m. Sunday in the Holzer Medical Center at Gallipolis. He had been seriously ill for two weeks.

Owner and operator of a funeral home in Point Pleasant since 1946, he was co-owner of the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with Louis Hussell. He was a member of the board of directors of the West Virginia Funeral Directors Association and past president of the Southwestern Funeral Directors Association.

Mr. Crow attended West Virginia University and was a 1933 graduate of the Cleveland College of Embalming. He was also a graduate of the Carson Long Military Academy at New Bloomfield, Pa.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Crow was a member and finance officer of Mason County Post 23, American Legion. He was member a member of Minturn Lodge No. 19, F&AM the Beni Kedam Shrine Temple and Franklin Commandery at Charleston, W.Va., the Point Pleasant Kiwanis Club, Pat Wilson Shrine Club and the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Born at Hundred, W.Va., he was the son of the late Gordon E. and Anna Duncan Crow.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Workman Crow, and one brother, Gordon Duncan Crow of Tucson, Ariz.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles S. Thompson. Burial will be in Kirkland Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
