COLUMBUS~~~James E. Alexander, 80, died April 15, 2011.

Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sanders Crossroads Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with John W. Honeysucker officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation is today from 1-6 p.m. at Lee Sykes Chapel in Columbus. The family will greet from 5-6 p.m.

Mr. Alexander was born May 26, 1930, in Columbus to the late William Alexander Sr. and Mary Lou Irons.

He was a member of Jamison CME Church and Sanders Crossroads CME Church. He was a graduate of Union Academy High.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Alexander; son, Ronald Alexander; sisters, Gertrude Fisher of Denver and Mary Alice Ross of Gary, Ind.; one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.
