Bruce A. Sanders, 51, of Benton died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in Belleville, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Morton & Johnsotn Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Harl Ray Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be after 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1959, the son of Paul Eugene "Gene" and Jane (Dillon) Sanders.
He married Linda Crider on March 17, 1979, and she survives. They just celebrated their 32nd anniversary.
He was a farmer who loved farming. He loved John Deere. He loved sports and watching his kids participate in sports.
He graduated from Benton High School, where he participated in football. He was also a graduate of Rend Lake College.
Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Linda Sanders of Benton; four children, Stara Rankin and husband, Nick, of Beloit, Wis., Stephanie Wilson and husband, James, of Ewing, Casey Sanders of Du Quoin and Ryan Sanders of Benton. He was a loving grandfather to Madelyn, Clayton, Lukas, Evan and Jesa.
He also is survived by two brothers, Tim Sanders and wife, Jodi, of Janesville, Wis., and Tom Sanders of Benton; one sister, Barbara Thomas and husband, Mike, of Benton; mother, Jane Sanders of Benton; six nephews; two nieces; mother-in-law, Eva Fred of Benton; and sister-in-law, Anna Shockly of Benton.
Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his father.
