Born Cornelia Estes Collins, she was daughter of William Blount Collins (1806 Edgecombe Co., NC died 1873 Houston Co., TX) a medical doctor & Elizabeth Jane Estes (1815 VA died after 1880 Houston Co., TX). The Collins family removed from Camden, Ouachita Co., AR to Houston Co., TX around 1850-1855 where William practiced medicine. Cornelia "Nellie" was first married ca 1870 to Rufus Hallmark (1842-1902) from whom she was divorced. She had two children: Smithie Hallmark & Carey Blount Hallmark. She married 24 Aug 1887 Houston Co., TX Francois Surville "Frank" Labit (1842-1919). The extended Labit-Hallmark family removed from Houston Co., TX to Eldorado, Greer Co., Oklahoma Territory ca 1890 where Frank Labit was one of the first merchants of the town, owner of a livery stable called "Labit & Sons." The family removed to Waldport, Lincoln Co., OR in 1915 by train. Son Carey B. Hallmark lived in Waldport & later removed to Coos Bay, OR & daughter Smithie Hallmark married Lemuel J. Elliott & remained in Greer Co., OK where he was a merchant.
