Arthur L. Brier of Maple Grove Township passed away on Saturday evening May 22, 2004 at Covenant Rehab Care Center, Saginaw, age 87 . He was born on October 1, 1916 in Maple Grove Township, the son of Michael P and Laura (Camp) Breier. He has resided most of his life in the area. He married Helen S. Pasterz on May 5, 1938. She predeceased him on August 16, 2001. Art was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. He retired from General Motors and was also a special deputy Sheriff for Saginaw County. Surviving are six children, Donna Alcorn, of Flint, Elaine and Bill Granger, of Marysville, Arthur and Diana Breier, of Prudenville, Mary Anne Haight, of Saginaw, Marlin (Butch) Breier of Saginaw, Craig and Cheri Breier, of Oakley; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a dear friend, Marian Maxa; 1 brother, Melitus Breier; 2 sisters, Berniece Sumpter, Kathleen Kaiser. Predeceased by 1 brother, Ernest; sisters Lavina Murphy and Betty Lou Dankert. Funeral Mass will be 10:00AM Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Rev. Fr., Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Home, Chesaning all day Tuesday and at church on Wednesday after 9:00AM Scripture service will be 7:00PM Tuesday and Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8PM.
