Last Wednesday afternoon, while young Avery Hedrick, 11-year-old son of F E Hedrick, was removing a muzzle loading rifle from a wagon, the gun was accidentally discharged, the ball entering his stomach and the lad only lived about five hours after the unfortunate affair. His death occurred about midnight and burial took place the next day at the community cemetery at Tate.
The unfortunate accident is deeply regretted and the bereaved parents have the sympathy of the community.
