Funeral services for Betty Caine Pickens will be Saturday, May 7, 2011, 11 a.m., at Moulton Baptist Church. Elliott Funeral Home will direct.
Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Pickens died Thursday, April 28, at her residence. She was born Oct. 5, 1930, in Lawrence County to A. Russel Caine and Bessie Richardson Caine. She and her husband developed Pickens subdivision. After her husband's death, she continued to develop properties along Ala. 157 including LaurAl Plaza, named in memory of her children. Mrs. Pickens also served on the advisory board of CB&S Bank and was a longtime member of Moulton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Pickens; a daughter, Laura Pickens and a son, Alan Pickens.
Survivors include one sister, Jane Price of Monticello, Ga., and one brother, Russell Caine of Las Vegas, Nev.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moulton Baptist Church or to support any community affected by the tornadoes.
