Orville was the son of C.J. and Agnes (Albrecht) Gunden, born on April 11, 1917, in Flanagan, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Anne Wenger in Wooster, Ohio, on May 23, 1941.

A well-known land-developer, Mr. Gunden retired in 1979 from Creative Construction Company. he was a member of the former Menno Singers, Evening Exchange Club, Builders Assn. of Elkhart Co., and the College Mennonite church in Goshen.

Mourners include his dear wife; one daughter, Mrs. Brian (Sandra) Kennedy of Mount Clemens, Mich.; four sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Eva) Huneryager, Miss Ruth Gunden, Mrs. Carl (Doris) Metzler, and Mrs. Ernest (Lois) Clemons; and four brothers, Ralph, Cleland, Don, and Elton.

Burial in Violett cemetery followed a memorial service in the College Mennonite church.
