Colored Woman Had Been Ill Some Time; Funeral To Be Held at LaBelle, Mo.

Mrs. Zella May King, 47, wife of Omer King, employe of the Carmer Motor Co., died after a prolonged illiness at her home at 714 South 19th street about 5 p.m. yesterday.
Mrs. King was born at Monticello, Mo., Feb. 23, 1889, the daughter of William and Lizzie Garr. Her father preceded her in death.
She and her husband moved to Centerville four years ago. There are no children.
Mrs. King was a member of the Second Baptist church, in which she taught the junior class in the Sunday school while Rev. G. A. Kendrick was pastor, and held the presidency of the Independent Women’s club.
Besides her mother, she is survived by six brothers, Neil of Palmyra, Mo., Willie of Edina, Mo., and George, Sam, J. B. and Harry of LaBelle, Mo., and four sisters, Mrs. Lettie Gardon of Quincy, Ill., Mrs. Mary B. Howard of Palmyra and Mrs. Elizabeth Fisher and Mrs. Laura Fisher of LaBelle.
Funeral services will be held at LaBelle at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. N. P. Wilson of Quincy officiating, assisted by Rev. Kendrick. Burial will be at LaBelle, the King’s former home.
