Martha Jean (Gresley) Farrell, 58 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege following a courageous battle with cancer. Martha was born on October 3, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois, the only child born to Robert E. and Josephine A. (Peterson) Gresley.

When she was young, Martha was involved as a youth swimmer for the Jr. Olympics. She attended school in Normal, Illinois, graduating from Normal Community High School with the class of 1970. Following her education, she was united in marriage to Roy T. Cisco at Bloomington, Illinois. Later in years she pursued higher education at the Lincoln Community College in Normal, Illinois, where she studied Business Administration.

Martha worked at various jobs while raising her three children: Connie, Christine and Caroline. She loved being a mother and homemaker. When the children were younger, Martha loved being active as a Girl Scout leader. She loved to travel throughout the world, enjoyed camping and canoeing and was a competitive pool player. In 1998 she was united in marriage to Daniel Farrell at Cheyenne, Wyoming. The couple made their home in Cheyenne. On July 13, 2001, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel due to an automobile accident.

Martha was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holdrege.

Martha is survived by: daughters: Connie Brown and her husband, Matthew of St. Joseph, Missouri, Christine Cisco of Holdrege, and Caroline Shafer and her husband, Geoff of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren: Sara Brown and Daniel Shafer; and a host of relatives and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, and her second husband, Daniel Farrell.

Inurnment was in the Lakeview Cemetery at Cheyenne, Wyoming.
