Lon Studstill Dies at Telfair -- Well Known Farmer Had Been Ill Three Months
McRae Ga., July 1 -- Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock in Bethel Methodist church at China Hill in this county for Lon R. Studstill, well known farmer who died at his home at China Hill Tuesday after about three month illness. Rev. Wade Ward, pastor of Jacksonville Methodist church, conducted the service and was assisted by Rev. W. H. Willcox.
Pallbearers were Bert Studstill, Paul Studstill, Colquitt Studstill, Randall Studstill, Fred Peacock and John Martin Jr.
Mr. Studstill was born in Telfair county on April 12, 1886, and was the son of John B. and Mary Jane Ryals Studstill. He was married to Miss Rebecca Boney and had resided in this county all of his life.
Surviving are his wife and the following children: Mrs. A. J. McCranie of West Point; Mrs. Lester Harper of Wray; Misses Mary Claire Studstill, Frankie Studstill, Doris Studstill, Joan Studstill and Lonnie Studstill Jr.; four brothers, J. C. Studstill of Abbeville; W. B. Studstill, J. D. Studstill and A. C. Studstill, of Telfair county and four sisters, Mrs. H. H. Lancaster, of Rhine; Mrs. W. P. Harrell of Eastman; Mrs. H. L. Peacock and Mrs. J. H. Martin Sr., of Rhine. Interment was in the cemetery at Bethel church.
