Funeral Tuesday; Was Ill About a Month
CARLTON—Mrs. Carl Wettering, 76, a resident of Kewaunee County more than 50 years, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wenzel Skarvan, Norman, after having been ill for a month. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the Skarvan home and at two o'clock from St. Peter's Lutheran church, Krok, with the Rev. W. A. Kuether officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Wettering, nee Miss Maria Zahn, was born in Cooperstown Dec. 24, 1862, and there lived the early years of her life. She married Carl Wettering May 15, 1884, and the couple first took up residence in Montpelier town. Later they moved to West Kewaunee and she lived there until her husband's death seven years ago last Mar. 17. In recent years she has been living with her daughter.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Emil Pelnar and Mrs. Skarvan, both of Norman, and one son, John, of Owen, Wis. with two sisters, Mrs. Dan Rohde, of Kewaunee, and Mrs. Charles Rohde, of Carlton. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
