Born Feb. 16, 1921, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Walter and Hazel Hutson Hilderbrand, she lived in Abington most of her life.
Mary Jane worked at the Abington General Store for 28 years. She was a member of the Abington Christian Church, Willing Workers and Sister of Pythias.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Adams of Brownsville and Sarah Daniels of Richmond; son, Dick Ramey of Liberty; four grandchildren, Rhonda, Kevin, Angie and Tom; four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Katelyn, Paul and Mary; sisters, Carol Felty of Richmond, Ann Sacre and Francis Dietz, both of Liberty; brothers, Floyd Hilderbrand of Connersville, and Russell Hilderbrand of Brownsville; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Luke" Ramey, who died in 1975; and three brothers, Wilbur, Robert and Charles.
Visitation for Mary Jane Ramey will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Mills Funeral HOme, 405 E. Main St., Centerville. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery.
