"3 WEEKS ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. CHARLIE BAKER.

"Succumbs at Hospital Here at 10:30 Today

"Mrs. Charlie Baker died at the Samson Community Hospital this morning, about 10:30, exactly 3 weeks after having undergone an emergency operation for removal of her appendix. Complications set in and from the start, little hope was held for her recovery, although some encouragement was held thru the fact thather splendid spirit pulled her successfully thru much pain and suffering and serious set-backs.

"The deceased was a devoted member of the Methodist church, a woman of highest character who was held in esteem by all who knew her and her life of unselfish service to her church, her family and her friends is a monument to her memory.

"She is survived by her husband and two children, Miss Mable Baker and Miss Mary Margaret Baker. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Bailey, Burkesville road, three sisters, Mrs. Roy Grinstead, Glasgow, Mrs.Joe Piercy and Mrs. Will Matthews, of Barren county, and three brothers, Clarence and Edgar Bailey, Louisville and W. T. Bailey, Lexington, also survive her.

"Funeral services will be conducted at the Methodist church Friday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment will follow in the Glasgow Cemetery.
