Milton H. L. Stuemke was born May 18, 1915, at Lyra Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, the son of Wilbert Stuemke and Louise nee Ladage. He was baptized June 6, 1915, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Good Thunder by Fred Randt and confirmed April 13, 1930, St. John's Lutheran Church, Good Thunder by Rev. A. C. Klammer. On September 23, 1938, he married Marie Dena Voges at St. John's Lutheran Church, Danville Township, Waseca County by Rev. Edward Dicke.
Milton farmed most of his life in Blue Earth and Rice Counties. Milton and his wife, Marie, moved to New Germany in 1968. He was active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault in the church choir and the School Board of Trinity.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Louise Stuemke, and sister, Emma Iams.
He is survived by wife, Marie; children and their spouses, Wayne and Evey Stuemke of Waseca, Karen and Ralph Unglaub of Mayer, Dale and Jeanne Stuemke of Austin, Texas, Mavis and Roger Sonnek of Eagle Lake; grandchildren, Robin and Bob Carlson, Michael and Jayne Unglaub, Dawn and Doug Taylor, Christine and Randy Pietsch, DeeAnn and Steve Voshell, David and Jennifer Sonnek, Jay and Deeanna Stuemke, Pamela Stuemke, Heidi and David Olsen, Joel and Leigh Stuemke; 13 great grandchildren, Bethany, Matthew, Alex, Timothy, Amy, Jacob, Madeline, Rachel, Adam, Branden, Jacob, Amber, and Morgan; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Rosella Stuemke of Mankato, sisters, Leona McKnight of Gaylord, Edna Dobie of Winnebago, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold Voges of Mankato, Lyle Voges of Minnesota Lake, Audrey and Bob Cooper of Mankato, Carl and Phyllis Voges of Bricelyn; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
