Scott Hattori, Seattle Art Figure, Dies
Haruo Scott Hattori, 31, businessman, designer and artist, died in a hospital Friday. He had been ill several months,
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 o'clock Wednesday in Butterworth's chapel. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Hattori was founder and president of Haru-Far East Contemporary, Inc., a specialty shop for Far Eastern decorative items. He had been in business five years.
Mr. Hattori had designed award-winning booths at the Washington State International Trade Fair. He also designed ballet sets and costumes. One of his paintings is on display in the Seattle Art Museum.
A native of Seattle, Mr. Hattori attended elementary school here and a high school in Idaho. He also attended the University of Washington. He resided at 1105 Spring St.
