*The 8th OVI was instrumental in helping repulse Pickett's Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg.
Spotsylvania where his brother Anthony was killed.
Mustered out at the end of the war and returned home. Married Mary A. Stuller. Had one son George A. Magrum. Drowned in a boating accident while fishing with his brother leaving young wife and baby.
