He resided at 1117 Clinton Avenue S., Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 28, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Driver and also as being Single, without dependents.

John was was "Killed In Action" in Germany during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
