WHEELER - Edith May Wheeler, daughter of John and Eliza Ann Clark, was born October 2, 1881 at Chillicothe, Mo., and passed away February 6, 1967 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years, four months and four days.
On March 15, 1903 she was united in marriage to Samuel P. Wheeler. They lived on a farm in Liberty Township and retired 15 years ago to Chariton.
They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary march 15, 1953.
Three children were born to this union. They were Don of Chariton, Hazel McCormick of Pleasantville and Orval, who preceded her in death February 12, 1937. Also preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Surviving in addition to her son and daughter are two daughters-in-law, Opal Wheeler of Omaha, Nebr., Edna Wheeler of Chariton; and son-in-law, Keith McCormick of Pleasantville; three grandchildren: Margaret Ann Goff of Boulder, Colo., and Leland and Ivan McCormick of Pleasantville, and three great-grandchildren.
Many relatives and friends are left to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 1967 at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
