Rachel Victoria Houck is the daughter of John Wesly Houk and Mary "Polly" Icard. Her mother is also buried in this cemetery, and her father is buried at Silver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Burke County, North Carolina. She married Miles H. Goins in about 1876 in Burke County, and they had twelve children of which only five were alive when the 1910 census was conducted. She came with her family from Western Burke County around 1900 to work in the cotton mills in Rutherford County. She has eleven siblings.
