LEADING PEE DEE TOBACCONIST DIES
MARION - Raymond M. Winn, Sr., of Marion, died at 9 o'clock this morning at the Johnson Willis Hospital in Richmond, Va., after an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Winn was a native of Clarksville, Va., but had been living in Marion for thirty years. For many years he operated the Winn's Tobacco Warehouse until it was destroyed by fire and he also operated a stemmery here for a long while.
He later went to Mullins and operated a warehouse there for some time. For the past few years he has been connected with the seed loan office here. He was well known as a tobacconist all over the Pee Dee section.
Surviving are his widow and three children, Raymond M. Winn, Jr., Miss Virginian Winn and Miss Nona Will, all of Marion; several brothers and sisters of Virginia.
The body arrived in Marion tonight and funeral services will be conducted at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon by the Rev. Robert B. Smith.
