Ruth Oakley Sager Criswell, 101, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 22,
2009, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. She was born Sept. 7, 1907, in
Rogers, Ark., to Louis Green Sager and Lulu Oakley Sager.
She was a designer for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Mo., for 38 years, then
retired at Concordia in Bella Vista for 36 years. She was a member of Fellowship
Bible Church of Rogers for many years. Her great-grandparents, Haywood and
Elizabeth Oakley, donated 1 1/2 acres for the Oakley Chapel United Methodist
Church and Cemetery in Rogers. The chapel was built in 1872.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John Michael Criswell and Bonnie
Criswell of Kansas City, Mo.; and many cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Oakley
Chapel Cemetery in Rogers, Ark., with Pastor Robert Cupp.
Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
