Dewey H. "Buster" Cobb, 86, 2311 Idaho St., died at Guadalupe Medical Center today (Dec. 24, 1991). Services are pending at Denton Funeral Home.
Mr. Cobb was born on Dec. 22, 1905, in Oklahoma Indian Territory near present Durant, Okla. He grew up in that area and moved to Paducah, Texas, in 1925. He married Johnnie Mae Haston on May 22, 1927, in Paducah.
They moved to Carlsbad in 1941, he worked as a miner at U.S. Borax. He retired in 1968. He had also farmed in Texas and continued to enjoy gardening after he retired. Mr. Cobb was a member of Garden Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Mae Cobb, Carlsbad; one son, J.D. Cobb, Carlsbad; two daughters, Sharlie Hamrick, Danville, Ark., and Shirley Lewis, Carlsbad; two brothers, Leon Cobb, Carlsbad, and Bill Cobb, Rosemead, Calif.; one sister, Dora Lewis, Blanchard, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Dewey H. Cobb, 86, 3211 Idaho St. will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Denton Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Frank Hodnett of Sunset Street Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Gardens.
Mr. Cobb died on Tuesday (Dec. 24, 1991).
