Hortense-Nellie Faye Whitley Hickox, 82, of Hortense died Monday morning (May 9, 2011) at South East Georgia Health System following a lengthy illness.
Born in Alma, GA, her parents were John Whitley and Emma Carter Whitley. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Eugene Hickox, 1-Son, Jimmy Donald Hickox, 3 brothers,Walter Whitley, Leo Whitley, Junior Whitley, a sister, Sally Cochran.
She worked as a C.N.A at the Sears Manor Nursing Home, where she retired. She loved crafts and spending time with her family. She attended the Waynesville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her 3 Children and spouses, Diane and David Head of Hortense, Roy and Lizzie Hickox of Brunswick; Freida and Lenard Jacobs;of Hortense, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon at the graveside starting one hour prior to service.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon (May 11, 2011) at 4:30 p.m. at High Bluff Cemetery, Schlatterville with Rev. Vance Colley and Rev. Henry Browning officiating.
Pallbearers will be Davie, Steve, and Timmy Head, Roy Hickox Jr, Robert James Hickox, Harold Bargeron III.
Arrangement are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
