PETAL - A part-time Richton police officer was killed early Saturday morning when he apparently lost control of his car and crashed on Highway 42, four miles east of Petal.
Larry M. Clark, 27, of 215 Sun Circle in Petal, was driving home from work when the accident occurred about 3:30 a.m.
Clark, in addition to working part-time for the Richton Police Department, was also a reserve for the Petal police force. He was employed full-time as a manager-trainee for the Winn-Dixie food store in Petal.
Services for Clark will be held at 3:30 p.m. today from Moore Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Leland Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Petal.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Clark a daughter, Stacey; a son, Christopher; his father, J.D. Clark, all of Petal; five sisters, Mrs. Margie Myers of Petal, Mrs. Peggy Ann James of Petal, Mrs. Ruby Watkins of Petal, Mrs. Mary Kowrach of Biloxi, and Mrs. Jean Young of Baton Rouge, LA; and two brothers, Kenneth Clark of Hattiesburg and William Clark of Petal.
Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
