Noted Spanish-born stage and screen actor. He began his career in 1935 and made more than 200 films. He is remembered for "Locura de Amor" (1945), "Cómicos" (1954), "Viridiana" (1961), "Campanadas a Medianoche" (1965) directed by Orson Welles, "Tristana" (1970), "French Connection" (1971), "Ese Oscuro Objeto del Deseo" (1977) and "Madregilda" (1993).
