She was born in the Francisco Community in Stokes County, NC, on September 6, 1925, to the late Edgar and Esther Beasley Smith.
Mrs. Shaw attended Appalachian State University, worked for the National Security Agency in Washington, D.C., and retired from the Stokes County School System.
She enjoyed her farm, flowers, and gardening. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Shaw is survived by her four children: David Morrow and wife, Rhonda of King, NC, Charles Morrow and wife, Rosalie of Manassas, VA, Kathy Morrow of Walnut Cove, NC, and Dr. Vicki Morrow and husband, Philip Hopkins of Philadelphia, PA. She has five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, Billy Frank Morrow and C. Richard Shaw, and one grandchild, Sarah Olivia Morrow.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008, at Cox-Needham Chapel with Rev. Tom Blackburn conducting the service with interment to follow at Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Cox-Needham Funeral Home is assisting the Morrow family.
