Robert N "Bob" Jarrett, 65, a lifelong resident of Granite City, died at 9:18 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 1993, at St Elizabeth Medical Center, Granite City. He was born May 3 1928, in Granite City.

He was the owner of Red's Truck Service before retiring in January. He was an Army veteran, a member of Teamsters local 525, Masonic Lodge 877, Moose Lodge 272, Amvets Post 51 and American Legion Post 307.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara A (Davis) Jarrett, whom he married April 20, 1950; two sons, Darrell G Jarrett Sr and James R Jarrett, both of Granite City; one daughter, Beverly J Freeman of Granite City; two brothers, Charles Jarrett and Ronald Jarrett, both of Granite City, and one stepsister, Jackie Jackson of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy David and Sarah (Adams) Jarrett; one son, David Jarrett, and his stepmother, Ella (Gaines) Jarrett.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Sunday) at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Henry Crippen officiating.

Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Edwardsville. Memorials are requested of donor's choice.
