Uel was born on April 11, 1925, in Luray, Russell County, Kan., to John Donald and Lula Electa (Taylor) Carver. She passed away on May 31 at her home in Cortez at the age of 77.
Uel enjoyed gardening, and loved watching birds, especially her chickens.
She is survived by her children, Joe Dean (Mary) McDonald of Cortez, Rick McDonald of Lewis, Colo., Timothy Todd (Heather) McDonald and Larry Wayne McDonald of Dolores, Johnny Curnal McDonald and Jimmy Lemuel(Doris) of Cortez, Dennis Aranold (Karen) Hackett of Dolores, and Henry Thomas (Coral Ann) Hackett of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 55 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. Her siblings, Laurna Moore of Cortez, Daniel Carver of Lebanon, Colo., John Carver Jr., Milda Jo Sitton both of Cortez, Sarah Fish of California, all survive Uel.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Joe J. McDonlad, and her children Joylene Becher, Deborah Lynn McDonald, and Roland Vinson McDonald; and siblings Dale, Patsy Sue, Bonnie, Judy, Tom and Leone.
Funeral services for Uel, a longtime Cortez resident, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Arriola Cemetery. Mr. Doug Carver will be officiating. A visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel.
