James R. Fawbush
James R. Fawbush, 72, longtime La Porte City resident, passed away at Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, early Tuesday morning, March 17 of complications.
He had been a farmer in the Bruce Township community for many years and retired to La Porte City in 1960.
He was born in Indiana on August 15, 1891, the son of John D. and Martha Fawbush.
He is survived by his wife; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Raymond Goodell of Oelwein, Mrs. Donald Burrows and Mrs. Frank Wilson of La Porte City. Also surviving are three sisters and two brothers.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the American Legion and was a veteran of World War I.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the First Presbyterian church in La Porte City. Burial will be in West View cemetery.
Johannsen-Rossow Funeral Home was in charge.
