Julius Bogart, who resided about 7 miles west of here, with Julius Groves, with whom he has made his home for some time, died at 11 o'clock a.m. on last Monday. The funeral was held at Lebanon Church by Rev. F.W. Gee, pastor of the M.E. Church, after which his remains were taken to the Carmack Cemetery and consigned to their final resting place.
The deceased was born in Carter County, East Tennessee, June 16, 1811, and had he lived until the 16th of next June, he would have been 80 years old. He was a son of Henry Bogart, a native of Virginia who was a soldier in the War of 1812. His father moved to Helt Township, this county, in 1820. The wife of the deceased, who died in 1872, was a daughter of Isaac Carmack. Mr. Bogart was the father of 8 children, 4 of whom survive him. The deceased was a very clever old gentleman, honorable and upright in all his dealings, and highly respected by all his neighbors.
