Elizabeth J. "Betty" Barley, 81, of 119 Penn Ave., Ephrata, died Saturday at Ephrata Community Hospital after an illness of several days. She was the wife of the late Christian Barley Jr., who died in 1996. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude E. McFarland. She worked at the former W.W. Moyer Co. of Ephrata from 1953 to 1978. Surviving are three stepdaughters, Mildred, wife of Gerald Nissley, and Esther Glick, both of Columbia, and Ruth, wife of Reid Buckwalter of Lititz; two stepsons, Roy, husband of Mary Ann Barley of Manheim, and Ralph, husband of Tracey Barley of Mountville; 13 step grandchildren; and one step great granddaughter.
