Daniel Sears, who has been a resident of this township for many years, died very suddenly on last Sunday night. The deceased resided about 3 miles southwest of town, and was an Uncle of Senator R.B. Sears and Jake Sears. The deceased was born in Bourbon County, KY, on June 20, 1808, and would have been 80 years had he lived until the 20th of June. He was married to Sarah Sappenfield in the year 1836, in Marion County, this state. He moved to this county in 1841, where he has resided ever since. His first wife, died November 11, 1848. To them were born 8 children - 5 boys and 3 girls, all of whom are dead except the eldest and youngest. He was married a second time on January 24, 1856 to Martha Clark, with whom he has lived ever since. For many years he has been a faithful Christian and member of the U.B. Church. His funeral took place on last Monday in the forenoon, and was very largely attended. His remains were interred in the Carmack Cemetery.
