He was born in Utica, a son of the late Philip and Theresa Spring.
In 1928, in Utica he married Margaret Daniels. He was a fireman and engineer on the New York Central Railroad for 25 years and he retired in 1969.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Phillip M. Spring; one brother, Frank Spring; two grandchildren, all of Utica.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Utica Daily Press, Thursday, September 8, 1977
