The oldest member of the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Anne E. “Betty” DeVoss, 91 died at 8:30 am Friday, November 22, at her residence in Decatur.
Mrs. DeVoss, a homemaker, had been a member of the church 79 years and was a member also of the Order of Eastern Star.
She was born in Decatur, May 23, 1911, a daughter of Phillip L. and Lola P. Jackson Macklin. Her marriage on June 21, 1940 was to John L. DeVoss, who died March 10, 1974.
Surviving are two sons, Jay M. DeVoss of Fort Wayne and Robert A. DeVoss of Carmel; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Four brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Services will be at 2:30 pm Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur where visitation hours will be Friday from 1 pm until time for services. Rev. Sylvester Martin will officiate and burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
