David was the son of James DeCamp and Nancy M Meeker. He married Margaret T Tebo in 1861 in Morris County, New Jersey.
He was a veteran of the Civil War. David enlisted as a Private at the age of 34 on 5 Sep 1864. He mustered in Co K 39th New Jerse Infantry on 23 Sep 1864. Mustered out on 16 Jun 1865 at Alexandria, Virginia.
Margaret and David had the following children: Lucy Eva (Bonner), Elmina Jane (Fichter), George Francis, Nancy Louise (Cooper), Julius Allen, Warren Meeker, and a child who died in infancy.
David died in 1910 at the age of 80 years.
