CARLSBAD - Howard H. Wester, 87, of Tracy Place, died Wednesday, July 12, 1995, at home. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Dickens, Pastor of the Epworth United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wester was born Dec. 10, 1907, in Charlottesville, Va., to Howard Winfrey and Forrest Seaman Wester. He had lived in many places in the country. He graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in forestry. He joined the Army during World War II. He married Margaret Elizabeth McLane in 1942 in Nashville, Tenn. They moved to Carlsbad in 1946, where they owned the ranch at Sitting Bull Falls. Later, he and brothers opened Wester Brothers Produce on Sixth Street in Carlsbad. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, of Carlsbad; and a brother Edward A. Wester of Carlsbad.
Pallbearers will be John Alexander, Charlie Black, Gerald Dillion, Carl Sandstrom, John White, and Pat Wilburn.
