Born in Murray, Utah on July 12, 1958 to Albino A. Ortega and Guadalupe Trujillo Ortega; left us on May 3, 2011 at the young age of fifty-two.

Philip retired from Midvale City after several years of service. Phil enjoyed camping, hunting and four wheeling. He taught his children, family, and friends what it meant to live life to the fullest.

Phil enjoyed taking his family to the great outdoors and using his many catch phrases; the one most remembered would be "hey lady, over here". Enough can't be said about the love he had for his children, grand-children and great granddaughter. Philip J. Ortega will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Survived by mother, Guadalupe Ortega; children, Richard (Beatrice); Monic; Latoya; Jenica; Jose; grandchildren, Sarha; Gabby; Tino; Nessa; Jayson; Nanna; Abreeah; CC; RJ; Philip; great granddaughter, Baby Girl. Siblings, Priscilla; Lawrence (Ida); Rose (Mike); Elva; Patricia (Fred); Rick (Kelly); Carlos (Deb); Lori (Frank); sister in law, Helga; many nieces and nephews; very special friends, Jeanette and Ernie; Mike and Becca. Preceded in death by his father, Albino A. Ortega; sister, Belinda; brothers, Roy and Balbino; niece, Lisa; brother in law, Roger; grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Therese Catholic Church, 7828 Allen Street, Midvale, Utah. Friends may call at the church on Monday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m., with the Rosary Service to follow.
Interment: Midvale City Cemetery.
