Doris E. Silny, 86, died January 9, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada after a one month illness. Doris was born September 20, 1920, the daughter of John and Mae Short.
Doris graduated from Des Moines Lincoln High School in 1939. She served in the Marine Corps during World War II. Doris lived most of her life in Des Moines until moving to Boulder City, Nevada in 1990.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joseph Silny. She is survived by a sister, Nancy Short, a son Joe Silny, two daughters, Vicki Sterling, Judy Garcia, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
