Lorain Youth Killed in Fall from Pipe Load
Steve Brodki, 21, 338 Fourteenth Street, Lorain, was killed yesterday when he fell from a load of pipe in Bay Village.
Brodki was riding on the load, which was being hauled by the Elyria office of the Logan Gas company to Hall Road and DLake Road. He slipped from the load, and struck his head on the hub cap of an automobile which was parked by the side of the road near Bruce Road, fracturing his skull.
A physician was called and pronounced the youth dead when he arrived. The body was taken to the Cliff Pease undertaking establishment at Dover, and was then brought to the B*tner funeral home in Elyria.
Brodki had been working for the gas company for only two days.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, at the Church of the Nativity in Lorain. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.
Brodki's sweetheart. Helen Ladarski, 1, who lived at the same address was killed Monday when she was struck by a car while on her way to work. Brodki was to be on of the pallbearers.
