Major League Baseball Player. Born in Shabbona Grove, Illinois, he was left handed pitcher making his debut with the Chicago Cubs on April 16, 1912. For six seasons, he played with the Chicago Cubs (1912-16) and St. Louis Cardinals (1917). He concluded his career with a record of 36 wins, 27 loss, 26 complete games, 5 shutouts, 1 save, 260 strikeouts and a 3.10 earned run average. He died at age 47 in Joliet, Illinois.
