Robinson Rites Arranged Sunday

The body of Joe C. Robinson, technician 5th Grade, was being returned here Thursday from St. Laurent Cemetery near St. Lo in Normandy, where he was killed in action, June 23, 1944. Reburial will be in the cemetery at Milton after services Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Brown-Roden Funeral Home. The Rev. Edwin Crawford, assistant pastor of First Baptist Church and chaplain of Winfield F. Brown Post 30, American Legion, will officiate, military rites to be conducted. Pallbearers will be C. W. Moss, Sam Susmus, Rupert Still, Sydney Hunter, Mark Hodges and Joe DeJarnatt. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Alta V. Womack, and two children, Jewel Geneva Robinson and Billy Joe Robinson, living at 933-12th NW; his mother, Mrs. Marion Robinson, and these brothers and sisters: Calvin Robinson, Santa Barbara, Calif.; Arthur Robinson, Los Angeles, Calif.; E. M. Robinson, Franklin, Robinson, and Mrs. Mary Canada, Paris; Mrs. Mae Maples, Dallas; Mrs. Fae Waldon, Kirbyville, and Mrs. Essie Jane Lenoir, Frankfort, Germany. Born in Talihina, Okla., Dec. 22, 1915, he was the son of the late Marion and Ida Goodin Robinson, and he had enlisted in the Army, Nov. 15, 1940.
