Miss Marilyn Darlene Gross, 63, of Newton, departed life at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Newton Rest Haven.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Crain Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend Paul Boostrom officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park in Newton with graveside services following the service.
Darlene was born September 1, 1949, in Effingham, the daughter of Frank and Carolyn (Matheny) Gross. She was a former school teacher in Chicago and Atlanta, Ga. She enjoyed being involved with her church families wherever she resided.
She was loved and will be missed by her brother, Larry Gross and his wife, Ann, of Berryville, Va.; twin sister, Diane Earnest and her husband, Dewey, of Norcross, Ga.; sister, Donna Connor and her husband, Mike, of Newton; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Carolyn Gross, and grandparents, Raymond and Ada Matheny.
