Hallie R. Forinash
Hallie Ruth VanPelt Forinash, 97, a resident of Central Street, Elkins, and more recently a resident of Nella's Nursing Home, departed this life Friday evening, Jan. 9, 2009, at the nursing home.
She was born Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1911, at Becky's Creek, a daughter of the late Walter O. VanPelt and Austa R. Riggs VanPelt.
On Aug. 4, 1932, at Elkins, she was married to Dale Forinash, who preceded her in death Oct. 31, 1986.
Surviving are one son, Robert D. Forinash of North, Va.; two daughters, Ruth A. Long of Wooster, Ohio, and Mary J. Bender of Waynesburg, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Virginia King of Coffeyville, Kan.; and 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death were one daughter, Glenogene White; five brothers, Harold, Sherman, Rufus, Warren and Clifford; and two sisters, Della and Cleo
She attended the schools of Becky's Creek and was a homemaker.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Wednesday, Jan, 14, from 11 a.m. to noon, the funeral hour. The Rev. Gary Phillips will officiate and interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville. Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Hallie Ruth VanPelt Forinash.
