ASHTON - Doris C. Moraczewski, 92, of Ashton died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at her home. A Celebration of Life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Ashton Community Club in Ashton. Mrs. Moraczewski chose to have her body cremated with no visitation or viewing.

Mrs. Moraczewski was born May 24, 1918, at Pierce to William A. and Bertha B. (Moser) Denson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, and a daughter, Karen O'Brien.

Doris grew up and attended school in Pierce, graduating from Pierce High School in 1935. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Moraczewski on Oct. 12, 1940, in Omaha. The couple lived in Omaha until moving to Ashton in 1959, where they owned and operated Larry's Tavern. She later worked at Rose Lane Home in Loup City for a number of years before her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson; a brother, Lester Denson; and a sister, Loree Koehn.
