Mrs. Foster died Thursday, February 15, 2007, at Sheridan Manor, in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Ethel was born December 7, 1913, the daughter of Frank B. and elizabeth Kosma Toth. She received her elementary education in the Burns School near Inyan Kara Mountain walking 2 1/2 miles to school. She was united in marriage to Delbert D. Foster May 4, 1937, in Newcastle, Wyoming. They lived on the Toth ranch until 1939 when they moved to Moon, South Dakota, where they cut posts and took care of sheep. In the fall of 1939, they moved to the Teepee Ranger Station, South Dakota, where Delbert worked at a sawmill. In 1940 they moved again to another sawmill in Custer, SD. They moved back to the Toth Ranch in November 1943 where Ethel resided until her death.
Ethel loved to sew, read, hunt, fish and bowl with Delbert. She also liked to cook, garden, and loved flowers. She never knew a stranger that was always welcome and she shared with everyone. Ethel was like a mother to everyone, especially to little kids. She also loved animals. She made pets of many stray cats and dogs. Some she nursed even back to health.
