A.C. (Claude) Johnson, 82, retired farmer, died at 5 pm Thursday at the Clark County Hospital following a long illness. The son of the late Armistead and Polly Berryman Johnson, he was a member of the Dunaway Methodist Church and a native of Clark County. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Fisher Johnson; two sons, O.P. and Allen Johnson both of Winchester; two daughters, Mrs. W.M. Watson, Irvine, and Mrs. A.W. Clark, Bath County; a brother, Sam Johnson, Clark County; five grandchildren, Charles Watson, Hollywood, FL; Paul Watson, Gainesvile, FL; Janet Sue Vaughn and Robert Allen Johnson, both of Winchester and Alice Faye Williams, Owingsville, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Monday at the Scobee Funeral Home by the Rev. Ronald Houk and the Rev. John Chambers. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John P. Gaines, Orpha Berryman, Vic Johnson, Leland Parrish, Jack Rankin and Henry Riggs; honorary, John Hall, Dewey Gaines, Tommy Haddix, Mitchell Witt, Stanley Jordan, Boyd Newkirk, Sam Berryman, Dr. Eugene Snowden, Clifton Haggard, O.N. Fielder, Charles Hazelrigg, Charles Cruse, Robert Thompson, Wayne Frazee and Harold Taylor. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call after 11 am Saturday.
