U.S. Congressman. He graduated from St. Joseph College, Bardstown, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1827 and commenced to practice law in Louisville, Kentucky. He declined the position of Secretary of State offered by Governor John Breathitt when he was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-third Congress, serving (1833-35). An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was elected a member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives in 1836 and resumed the practice of law. He died of heart failure at age 35 in Louisville, Kentucky.
